Search Replace function breaks when searching 4 php chars          Cheapest Web Software Support Area Forum Index -> Blogs Automater View previous topic :: View next topic   Author Message unc0nnected Joined: 17 Dec 2010 Posts: 27 Posted: Sat Apr 02, 2011 7:13 pm    Post subject: Search Replace function breaks when searching 4 php chars Some of the feeds I am pulling have custom php codes in them that I need to remove because they are breaking wordpress on my end so I tried to have BA do a search for <? and replace it with <!-- and then search for ?> and replace it with '-->' however this causes a big mess in the finished post as the entire thing ends up looking like this: forreplace505151374d9758fforreplace505151374d9758orreplace213064024d9758hforreplace213064024d9758tmlreplace023934774d9758 Clearly I understand why this is happening, just not sure if it is like this because no one's encountered this before or because there is no way around it. Could be and with these chars you are entering.. I ended up finding a fantastic Auto Search and replace filter : http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-filter/ that fixes it as it is being submitted. Just another plugin I need which is more overhead on my WP install so it's going to be nice when BA can do it.
