I use a random content generator that delivers its output via RSS.
Each time the RSS is called the output is uniquely different.
This would be ideal for populating many blogs with different content from the same source, BUT..... they all get the same content because BO saves the feed in a cache and refers to that for all future blog calls
Is there any way I can set the cache to 'off'? |

hi there, well thats pretty good way of feeding blogs, but do you update them more often than an hour? BO cache expires each hour, so feeds should refresh each hour. Currently there isn't cache on/off option, and if you hardly need it, let me know and i will remove it for you.. _________________ Thanks,

Not individually, but lets say I had 100 blogs all using the same feed - many of them would pick up the exact same RSS feed instead of each getting different content.
I understand the need for the cache, but it would be nice to run it off on a feed by feed basis (or failing that, turn it off completely)
Does that make sense? |

i see now, but removing the cache won't fix the problem. BO uses smart mechanism downloading just once the rss feed no matter how many blog should read from it. Basically its not downloading the same rss feed for each blog its selected, but just once to save time and server resources. I hope you understand what i mean..
So basically to make your stuff working i will need to totally rewrite the rss reader and make it download each rss feed for each blog, but that will slowdown really the script for all rest users.
Is it hard for you just to copy couple of times the rss script and add it as different rss feeds and select it for all the blogs you need? _________________ Thanks,

I understand.
Adding the script multiple times would work - never thought of that, no big problem I guess.
thanks |

Aggghh!
No it won't
It won't let me add the same url twice, and I can't change the URL or easily duplicate it.
There may be another option that involves mass creating hundreds of posts and bulk adding them. Hmmm.. lemme think it though a bit more. |

hmm, what you mean?
For example if your rss script is at:
http://www.yourdomain.com/rss.php
if you just copy rss.php to rss1.php so it looks like:
http://www.yourdomain.com/rss1.php
and import those both urls as feeds in the RSS Feeders section at BO it would work.
Let me know.. _________________ Thanks,

well, can't you create easily different projects and use them, that will produce unique urls.. _________________ Thanks,

Not really, takes an hour to do each one - high quality 'human readable' output, but not quick to do - only worth doing if it can be used on loads of blogs.
No problems - I'll find a way round it - I usually do |
