I've owned LO for a couple years now and I use it to do A-B-C style links within the blogs in my network. I do not use it to accept trades from other sites. As for the sponsors I promote, I add their links on an individual basis for each blog and do not use LO for this.
The thought just occured to me of using LO to manage my affiliate links but upon looking through the admin tools area I'm not sure if this is actually possible, so I thought I'd ask first. I may not have a full understanding of what LO can do. It appears to be designed only to cross-link sites operated by me or to promote other third party sites that link back to mine. It does not appear to offer the option of linking to sites that would not link back to me (i.e.: sponsors).
Here's an example: I want to create a category called "Amateurs" and add about a dozen affiliate links for my amateur sponsor sites, then I would place this LO code on all of my blogs where I want to promote amateurs so that in the future I can add and delete sites from the amateur category in LO and the changes will automatically take place on all my blogs where that category appears.
So is this a proper use of LO? If it is, are there any special considerations I should keep in mind? |

Hi there, here's couple of things that might help you out
1) You can add trades to any site of yours and set them to be excluded from the linkchecker. You can use that to add certain affiliate links or whatever links you want to your sites. That will make these links appearing at your sites, and having them excluded from the linkchecker, LO won't be checking for a recip on them
2) You can create for example a category named like "Sponsor Amateurs" and in it add your affiliate links as sites. Then create a fake site in same category and select "Automatically list all sites from same category in the system". Then create a trade template for that site and put its linking code to any of your real sites where you wish to display the affiliate links from the "Sponsor amateurs" category. That way anytime you add/edit/delete link in that category it will propagate on all your real sites using that output template.. _________________ Thanks,
