is there any instructions for moving some of your BO blogs to a new BO install? I have sold off a number of blogs and want to setup a new BO install and move those existing blogs to it for the new owners.

hi there,
no there aren't such instructions as the procedure is pretty tough and there's really lot of technical work involved, due to the multidomain nature of the software
Here's the easiest way to accomplish it:
- install brand new BO on the new location
- manually add/create the blogs as if they are completely new like you did in the first place
- manually copy over templates,settings and etc
- manually copy the posts from old BO to the new one

| thanks for that checklist. Is there any way of bulk copying the posts? Each one has several hundred, and there is about 50 blogs to transfer. |

hi there, the only way for bulk copy is from the mysql database exactly, but that is something that shouldn't be done because things will get messed up..

| Hi, I had a question about this topic also: when I purchased BO a few years ago I think the terms were for one installation on a server, correct? If I want to move my copy of BO to a new hosting company would you allow a grace period of a few weeks while I have BO installed on two servers, to give me time to transfer all the content? Once the transfer is complete I'd delete BO from my original server. |
