Hi, i have right now 6 blogs added in BO, all them using the same RSS feed as source. I'm noticing this weird problem where each two blogs have the same content like:

BLOG 1 Article A last post: 2010-02-16 11:40
BLOG 2 Article A last post: 2010-02-16 11:40

BLOG 3 Article B last post: 2010-02-16 11:41
BLOG 4 Article B last post: 2010-02-16 11:41

BLOG 5 Article C last post: 2010-02-16 11:42
BLOG 6 Article C last post: 2010-02-16 11:42

As you can see, blogs are graving an article from the feed in groups of 2 with 1 minute difference, and both blogs updated in the same minute get exactly the same article from the feed.

The RSS source feed is set to only show one article, and auto advance 1 article every time it gets a request, so it's impossible to give the same article twice, so i wonder if there is some kind of cache built in in BO that is not requesting a new article from the feed but using a cached one.

Is there any way to spread the blogs so they don't grab articles in groups of two at same time but each one at a different time? And even if they do in groups of two, why are they getting the same article when the feed is returning a different one on each request? is BO only doing a single request per run and then assigning it to all the blogs requesting an article update at that time?

when reading just from one feed BO is reading it from the newest to oldest entry. Thats why if you have multiple blogs reading from just same feed, they will get same posts in same order..

Try enabling the "Randomize Sources" in the rss feeder settings of the blog, but not quite sure if that will help for a blog with just single feed..

But the thing is that the rss source feed that is custom programmed, only has 1 entry pulled from a database in real time, and gives out a new entry every time you read it, so it can't never give out the same entriy on different requests, that is why i asked if there is any kind of cache in the RSS reader.

well, that explains the stuff.. yes, BO has 1 hour cache of the feeds and thats why your blogs get same posts.. Disable caching from "General Settings->RSS Cache"
