Just invested in my third server and moved a couple of Wordpress blogs there. Unfortunately the feed isn't working properly - see the top post here: http://asiants.ladyboyplanet.com/

The post is called: Fair-haired tgirl Moo in sexy bikini and red pumps
and the reason why I'm mentioning this is because I'm testing direct feeds from sponsors and I'm waiting for them to appear.

I have XML-RPC Enable the WordPress blog.

It's not just this blog - its several wordpress blogs recently moved over to this server (yesterday).

I have deleted the blog in blog organizer - remote blogs - and then re-installed it but nothing happened. I get the feeling that i have to get the server admnistrator to "allow" something to happen.

I also have another blog http://www.wizzbizness.com/ which is 100% blog organizer and that is working perfectly.

It looks as if some code is not being inserted. It is missing " " and < >.

My server administrator has replied to my Ticket:

I've never seen this behavior before, but googling around a bit seems to indicate there's a similar problem if you are running PHP compiled against certain versions of the libxml2 library. Since I'm pretty sure WP uses libxml2 functions for handling RSS feeds, it seems likely to be related.

The 'best' fix recommended in this case is to upgrade to libxml2 2.7.3 and PHP 5.2.9, so you might check to see if you are running an older version than that and upgrade/recompile if necessary. Supposedly this WP plugin will also get around the issue:

http://josephscott.org/code/wordpress/plugin-libxml2-fix/

FYI I'm basing this on the following posts and bug reports:

http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7771
http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=46138
http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=45996

yes, the problems is with the libxml version..

this WP patch also does the work..

http://joncanady.com/2009/01/wordpress-xmlrpc-angle-bracket-fix/

take in mind, whatever you do to fix this, it will affect only newly published posts, the old screwed ones, must be deleted, they won't get fixed..

Ôkay, its working again.

Hey that was quick don't you think? I contacted by server admin and they got on the case. Answered my ticket within 30 minutes and new what to do (see above). Kyle reported back: "Time spent was only 10 minutes so far, as it turned out there's no readymade libxml2 2.7.3 package for CentOS just yet and I compiled using the libexpat workaround mentioned as an alternative in the links I sent before. "

There is a lesson to be learnt here. Only deal with reputable hosting companies and not people who rent from them and try to make a fast buck by offering newbies cut price hosting.

Contact me with a PM if you want to know who they are.

These techs charge by the minute and so being an experienced tech has saved me some cash.
