Hi there.
i was just wondering.. what would happen if i decided to use LO on all my sites, ~35 sites, with around 400k page views a day.
would that fry the server? .. or is the load not that big?
any thoughts? |

well, i don't have any observations on such a big network, but here's few things i can say.
it should not be a problem, since the LO templates with the trades are static files. So your sites will do just simple php include to them, which not requires mysql or anything. For sure you need to use local includes, which means LO must be on same server as the network.
Also will be good not to use the LO stats tracker. I am sure it can handle 400k a day, but probably will cause some load. But i assume you don't need traffic tracking, but just hardlinking, so you will be safe.

however.. i have my sites running on 5-6 servers.. so i was thinking of using the CURL remote include.. would that be a problem. ?
the server where LO is installed is only doing LO BA, BO and GS so i dont think there's too much load on it now. |

i see,
well exactly the remote file inclusion will be causing some slowdown. I think it will be fine, but i will strongly advice you to do it on steps. Start using LO on 5 sites first, watch the load, then add few more sites, watch again the load.. It will not be good idea to apply it immediately on all sites..
