what is the Approved Site for in the General Setting column since we must had our sites in the extreme right column?

It's the only item you're not talking about in the general setting doc.

hi there, yes sorry about the missing info in the docs.

The "Approved sites" is used when you want to use RP as Repinger. Let me explain.. Lets say you have some blogs, and in your blogging software you remove all services to be pinged on new post, but just add http://www.yourdomain.com/rp/rpturbo.php
so your blogging software will ping RP on new posts. When RP receives that ping, it checks the "Approved Sites" database for matching domain for your blog, and if its found, RP pings all the services in the RP database. So basically, your blogging software pings RP and RP pings the services.

Let me know if this is clear enough for you.

Thanks!

I'm using RP to ping on new post but I'm using http://www.yourdomain.com/rp/rpexternal.php as mentioned in the script. I think it works but I only have results in External Ping Events History without any details of the submittion, just the date of the ping.

I did something like that about "Approved sites" by guess. Should I use http://www.yourdomain.com/rp/rpturbo.php instead?

Is it possible to have details in the "Latest Ping Events" using this url instead Or is it only available if you use a scheduled pinging? The way I'm doing it, i don't know if the pinging went good or wrong.

I prefer to use the pinged on new post option because I never update my blog at the same time and I don't want to ping a non updated blog.

thanks

well, when using the rpturbo or rpexternal you should have a detailed report saved in the external ping events history. next to each url and date reported there, should appear a link, when clicked will show you how went the ping..

oh, sorry.. i made a mistake..
when using the rpturbo, its just saving in the "external history" just the event, that a ping is being occured. The turbo is made for fastest performance, so it has no advanced log and etc.. its for mass bloggers for who the speed matters. if you use the "rpexternal" you will have advanced logs, which can be seen at "Automated Pinging->Events History"

let me explain once again how's the whole thing.

If you intend to use "rpexternal.php" you should first add the blogs you will be pinging in "Automated Sites" and click on "never autoping". This way you specify which services you want the script ping and when your blogging software pings RP, it will ping those services specified and will save you complete report in "Automated Pinging->Events History"

If you intend to use the "rpturbo.php" you just add your blogs domains in "General Settings->Approved Sites" so RP can recognize them when your blogging software pings RP and RP will ping all services in database and will save just the event that a ping occured in "Automated Pinging-> External History" without any details.

this is exactly what I did from the start and I don't have any report in "Automated Pinging->Events History" just go inside and you'll see by yourself. All the sites are entered in the "automatic ping"->"ad a site" and have the "never autoping" clicked on. If you go to Ping Events History The page is empty no report no nothing just a blank page!!!
I only have info in the External Ping Events History page without any stats or whatsoever. and i used rpexternal not rpturbo...........
