I am trying to sign up for an ABC trade at someone else's LO page
and I'm having trouble getting my head around the PR checking - I hope someone
here can help me.
My sites are A and C and I am signing up at a third party's LO page where they have site B.
Their settings for site B say that I need a minimum PR of 2 for the exchange.
Now, my understanding of the way PR works is that the reason they are asking
for a minimum PR of 2 is that they want the site that links TO them to have the PR.
Here, I am going to link my site A to their site B so it is my site A that should have the PR of 2.
The site that I am asking them to link TO (which is my site C) is the one I am trying to raise the PR for
and in this case it has PR of zero.
Now, to set up this ABC exchange I put my site A in the 'recip' field (that's where the link to B is coming FROM)
and my site C in the 'trade' field (that is where the link on B is going TO).
However, what LO seems to be doing is testing the value of PR for the site in the 'trade' field - which is
my site C - which has zero PR.
If I swap over A and C then the link is accepted.
On the face of it this seems to be back to front - have I got this all wrong?
Any assistance much appreciated.

hi there, yes currently LO is checking the PR for the Trade URL and not the Recip URL. I am changing that for next version, because it needs to check the pr from the recip url - the one that you are getting link back. Currently you can just select manually the PR from the dropdown and the webmasters will have no problems seeing that your recip url has that PR

Hi Kaktusan, and thanks for that explanation - I was looking so hard for the 'automatic' answer that I didn't even see that the PR has a manual dropdown  |
