The most important and urgent new feature I would like to see is a tag cloud like I have on http://www.rssxxxfeed.com
in my opinion a Wordpress Blog with Ultimate Tag Warrior has a big Search Engine advantage over BO Blogs.

Blogs listed alphabetically in categories rather than in the order they were created, I have over 100 blogs in one category that I monitor and edit daily, this feature would save me 15 or more minutes a day.

A way to temporarily stop Blogs from updating, If I go on vacation or take some time off I don't want to have to worry about duplicate posts, titles that are to long etc.

Bo index page categorized. I would still like an uncategorized page for reviewing posts

I had a fifth one that I have been trying to remember all morning that's why I decided to post my wish list Wink

Is it possible to have a header and footer option for the whole posting area like you have for each individual post? I would love to be able to add a html editable area as a header and footer in the posting area. I would like to easily add banners, messages, marque's, scrolling pictures stuff like that to the top and bottom of main post area for all blogs. This would really make things even easier and add a lot more function to BO.
Thanks.

No not on every individual post. I mean on the main post area were all the posts are placed in the blog. I would like to be able to have a module type were we can open a html box one for header area and another for footer area and be able to add banners or any html. The same way you have it set up for us to use the snippets to use on the header and footer of each individual posts.
Thanks.

It sounds like he's asking for new DB tables and template tokens so you could edit the blog through the blog's admin (similar to the Post Breaking Settings). I do something similar with a PHP include in the template that calls a file from my BO host domain, i.e. <?php include('http://www.mybohostdomain.com/bo/somefile.txt');?>

It's probably not as elegant as his suggestion, but seems to work pretty well with multiple blogs and different hosting setups. Very Happy

I have to add my 2c here.

The only reason I've never used BO to create new blogs is this one feature. I've got to have tags in my posts and I will not tag a post to technorati. They send me enough spammers, I don't need any more.

Ultimate Tag Warrior no longer works with WP and hasn't since version 2.1. and there is nothing to replace it. (Don't tell me about WP23x having it built in because it's not the same. It doesn't support simple tags or at least the version I tried didn't)

The SE value of tags are immeasurable and a searchable tag cloud is a fantastic tool for navigation, especially for the blogs with more of a general niche. For a long time now Google has really liked sites that linked like items together.

The web 2.0 crowd has grown to expect a tag cloud which not only shows the tags used on a site but also in a hierarchal manner, meaning larger font size and different colors for words used most often.

I won't build a blog / splog without them which means I'm stuck in the WP2.0x world until something else comes along.

Also, a great feature for the aggregator built into BO (and BA for that matter) would be the ability to read the category tag in a feed. They are contained in the <category>text here</category> part of the feed.

If they were converted to tags that would be an awesome addition. (another cool feature UTW had)

Something like the auto tag feature of WP's Simple Tags would be great as well. It gives you the ability to add a series of key words that the script then scans the post and automatically adds tags. An invaluable tool when using RSS Feeds.

Also, if you could strip the <category> </category> information from the feed and optionally be able to use that as either a tag or to make / file a post into that category would be way cool!

I really want to get off of WP for my blogging script for a multitude of reasons but without being able to do tags the right way I can't imagine leaving it.

yeah, working on it. I am spending more time on the tagcloud stuff, coz it will become kinda pretty heavy stuff if done unproperly, because it will need to handle tagclouds for lots of blogs, not just one.

Walrus, yes, i am thinking on adding such option. Generally the tagcloud stuff is becoming like this:
- tags will be determined from the post keywords field that is currently available when adding posts.
- there will be option to add turn off the above and determine tags from keyword list you provide and script will scan the posts for those keywords
- still thinking how to make the tagcloud generation itself. If i make it count clicks on each tag on each blog and by that to rank the tags, it might be kinda heavy. I think for the first version of the tagging option, not to have any ranking, but just on each regeneration to display the tags in random.

Personally, I'm happy with a tag cloud display that is alphabetized and the size of the text of the tag showing popularity. Popularity could be determined by the number of clicks or by the number of posts. But I'll take anything that works Wink

Are you thinking of generating a single tag cloud shared across all / selected BO blogs? If so, that could make for a very unique and possibly a very valuable SE tool. Interlinking all or your posts from various blogs together by a common keyword. Although I can see where that could cause some massive CPU time.

Just thinking out loud...

What sucks is that way back in the days when UTW was a viable option for WP, it would have been possible to do that with a tag blog. You would have created a blog with nothing but tags from all your others and then the others would have pinged the tag blog when new posts were done.

Please remember to do something about being able to keep all rss feeds separate for example being able to create folders in the rss feeds section folder for mainstream feeds, porn feeds then sub's for all there niches. I posted this before but just thought to mention again.
Thanks.

well, as for the start, as i already explained i want to make the tag stuff as much simple as possible. Now you gave me good idea that i can make it rank and for number of posts the tag appears in. I wanna see for some months how stuff would work and how will be server load then might try and adding by number of clicks.

I am thinking on having 2 options about what the cloud will contain - just from blog itself or combined from all blogs.

About cpu usage for generating the clouds i think it won't use much, because things will be divided. I will have a separate process for scanning database and saving intermediary results into another mysql table. Then when generation of the cloud is happening it will be reading from those intermediary results, so it won't be scanning all posts or stuff, but just will take few rows from the intermediary table and make the cloud from it. so it won't be really any difference if it needs to make the cloud based on the posts from the blog itself or from all blogs.

That exactly takes me more time, because i am tweaking and optimizing the intermediary results generation, the rest is easy..

And yes, i welcome any ideas or advices about this and any other feature i am implementing in BO as always Smile

well, BO doesn't keep records which post is from what feed. If you want to suggest that when making a combined cloud from all blogs to be able to exclude lets say porn posts when the cloud will appear on mainstream blog, best and advicable way will be to make you an option to exclude posts from selected blogs. That way it will just not pick posts from the lets say porn blogs you selected.

Sorry was not clear my post was not related to the ongoing tag cloud discussion. I was talking about a simple folder setup in BO's Rss feeds section to keep all the feeds in BO organized you know were you go to store all of BO's feeds whenever we add a feed.
Thanks.

That sounds like a plan Kaktus, I'd be more than happy to use my 200+ BO blogs for beta testing if you want
