Hi,

I got my first blog up and running and everything was working fine. Before I started sending traffic I decided to disable hotlinking and directory browsing through cPanel. Something went wrong and now my post pages and categories don't display (404). I reversed the changes but it's still not working. I also tried 'rebuild blog'.

The blog is on a subdomain. The .htaccess in the subdomain folder still has the rewrites in it. The .htaccess in the root folder of the domain just has 'options all' in it.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Carl0s.

OK, I fixed it. I went to 'linking codes' and checked the code for .htaccess. The code on my site had the words 'RewriteEngine on' missing from it. It must have been removed when I was messing about with blocking hotlinking. Now I just need to work out how to block hotlinking and directory browsing without breaking anything again Smile

ok, cool.

yeah, whenever you mess up something in the files at the blog location, you can always regrab the originals from "regular blogs->linking codes"
