Hi, I have a problem with some feeds. The provider isn't making any links inside the entry so my posts have no links even though there is one. I know I can make a BUY NOW button or link in the footer using a {RSS_LINK} variable with my image or anchor text, but how can I use {RSS_LINK} with the entry title?

This should be really simple but I know that {TITLE} doesn't work.

I want to use <H3><a href="{RSS_LINK}">RSS ENTRY TITLE Variable</a></H3>

If I can do that in the header then I'd have no problem. HELP!

hi there,
i see, but currently BA doesn't touch the title except for inserting the random keywords options. For future i think on expanding it and make {RSS_LINK} and etc work there, but for now it doesn't.

Yes, just use a custom header for now

that's the problem... I need some way to USE the entry title IN the custom header.

I don't need you to make a special code for the link I'm totally fine with using a href and all that, but I need a way to use the RSS entry title as anchor text, so how can I call that up?

here is an example. The RSS Entry title is "Homer Simpson Making Faces Boxer Shorts for Men"

I could easily set "Homer Simpson Making Faces Boxer Shorts for Men" as the custom header anchor text, but that only makes sense for ONE ENTRY... for the other posts that wouldn't make sense.

instead of having "Homer Simpson Making Faces Boxer Shorts for Men" I need to have something like {TITLE} so that the custom header would have the correct information.

in other words, I'd have something like
<H3><a href="{RSS_LINK}">{TITLE}</a></H3>

What can I use for {TITLE} ? I hope this makes this problem easier to understand.

well, i can't understand why you need the title linked at all?

generally, the title is linked to the blog's post own page. thats automatically done by the blogging software. thats the reason i have not made anything related to using the titles elsewhere or making possibility BA to link it by itself.

yes, i see your point, but for now there are no such features in BA due to the reason i just explained.

Im NOT trying to do anything to the blog post title... I'm trying to make a link for the product to the affiliate site using the product name which is in the RSS title. I am trying to make a custom header for the campaign which will have the correct description in the link.

As I said before the RSS feed only has a link in the entry title which means zero links in the post that is why I'm setting up custom headers and footers... the custom footer has a buy now button, but I need a link with the product name which happens to be the RSS entry title.

I need to be able to use the TEXT from the RSS entry title in my custom header as I gave in my example. I don't want to do anything else. nothing fancy. just that.

yes, i completely clear understand what you are trying to do. I am explaining that the title from the rss feed is regularly used for title of the blog posts, and regularly there is no need to use it elsewhere. That is why i still haven't added ability to use the title in headers and etc. You are the first one who need it, and i wrote it down in my todo list, and as soon as i release the new version of BA it will contain ability to use the title in the custom headers/footers.

ok, thank you.

I hope you're able to release that minor change soon. This problem will really hurt my sales.

if you have time to make other useful improvements, is it possible to make an option in the campaign setup for images in posts to be linked to the RSS entry link? That would be a bit more complicated to do, but would also help for feeds that have unlinked images.

Some images have height and width sizes set in them, it would also be nice to have a way to strip those out without changing other html code. I tried doing a text replace, but it didn't work. I set a height:inherit; in my css which fixes that for Firefox, but IE ignores inherit for images.

Thank you

I was able to at least convince the RSS feed provider to send me the feeds with the images linked, but I still need a way to integrate the title in the custom header.
