Atanasis, My BO Blogs stop posting when GS feeds have totally updated.
Example, if I have 100 galleries in a feed, and GS has updated to 100/100, the blog associated with that feed will stop posting even though the blog has only posted some of those 100 items.
Thanks |

well, it will stop if your GS feed updates way too often but BO updates the blog more rarely.
Consider this scenario:
In GS you have 100 gals, a feed setup to show max 25 entries and updates 4 times a day.
In BO you setup the blog to update once a day.
So each day BO reads the feed and gets one new entry, while your feed has 4 new entries. And after X days the feed will deplete the 100 gals and is showing max 25 gals at a time. So Actually BO will miss every 3 posts, because from the 4 new per day it picks just 1.
A solution is to synchronize things - feed updates once a day and BO updates once a day.
For your current situation you can try making the feed display like 50 entries, so BO will crawl and will pick any of the missed posts. _________________ Thanks,

Thank you. Wish this was in the documentation. I own BA as well but have not had time to learn/use it. Would using BA to feed my sites alleviate any of the feed issues I seem to be having? Can I use feeds created with GS in BA? I seem to be spending a considerable amount of time fixing things. Thanks for your time and patience.

yes, BA is best solution to use for RSS feeding since it is created exactly for that purpose and it is even better to use it to update the blogs from rss rather than doing it through BO.
The only thing you need to have in mind is synchronize the scripts as i explained. If your feed will be updating 4 times a day and the aggregator script need to read feed 4 times a day or atleast 2 times. BA is best because it will read feed and save all new posts in database, while BO reads feed and uses just exact number of posts for blog updating. _________________ Thanks,

Thank you. So, if my sites add a post every 48 hrs, then the feeds must also update 1 item every 48 hrs.
Got It! |
