As my previous host can't provide what I need now, I am moving my BO domain to another server.

Trying to install and getting error on the installation screen like this:

"Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/usr/bin/php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/wwwcapt:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) in /home/wwwcapt/public_html/bo/bo-install.php on line 88"

Assuming I can get the information on the php path, what do I do then?

at your new host the "open_basedir" feature is enabled in your php configuration. You need to have it disabled and all will work fine.

Damn - now I have to move server again.

The reason I chose this one was that it passed the server-test.php script OK.

Should that have happened?

If not, maybe the server-test script should test for this as well.

no need to move, just ask the host support disable that for you in the php config. Its 1 minute of work for them.

well, yes, i can add it in the server test script. This is one of those hundreds of features that if activated can make any of your scripts broke. And these features are regularly setup by default the same way on all servers. In the server test script i put the main mandatory features needed for the script to run, which aren't available everywhere by default..

Thanks - I moved server again anyway.

There are more than a few hosting companies who just won't change anything that they 'claim' is there for security reasons.

Decided to stop 'faffing about' and went with Webair - so far all is working well.
