I've searched for other posts about this issue but only found one and there didn't seem to be any resolution posted. Maybe I'm just retarded, but the license key/file don't seem to be working for me.
Here's my situation. We took a laptop that has linux on it, changed the domain name to match the license key (changed /etc/hostname, /etc/hosts, and even some non-essential files). The laptop boots up now with the correct domain.
We then installed BO successfully. I created the bolicense file and put it in /var/www/bo with the rest of the BO files. All I get is "No Valid License found! Create a file 'bolicense' and put your correct license key in it!". Okay...what?
Maybe it would help to know how the software validates the domain name. Does it do a host lookup or reverse lookup? The laptop is on a nat'd network with a different domain, which I suspect may be the issue, although it returns immediately to tell me there isn't a valid license key installed. Usually, I would think, there would be some sort of delay while it was doing a lookup. But then again, as I stated before, I may just be retarded. |

well, i can't share my licensing techniques, all i can say is that, it is made so that you really need to have the domain setup in normal way on a host and available via the net.
What's the reason for installing it on a local network laptop? All blogs created require internet availability to the BO install location, since they read from there. _________________ Thanks,

It's an interim solution until we get the server it will be installed on prepared. We wanted to start using it as soon as possible so we set up the laptop in the meantime.
So I guess we'll have to wait until we find a final location for it. |

i see, well yes, you will need to have your server ready and put it there.
What host company is that, that makes you wait for a server that long? Normally you should have your server ready within 24 hour or max 48 in worst case! _________________ Thanks,
