Hi,

It states in the admin area that the sites for pinging syntax should be as follows: URL||TITLE. I have been pinging for a while using other software and have never used this syntax - I have just used the URL - and it seems to work fine. Is the above syntax really necessary? I have thousands of pages to ping, and to create that syntax would take me months.

Paul

well, if you read the ping standarts and schemas url and titles are required and all ping programs and ping receivers are made to those standarts. If you have used a program that let you ping without title, is just made wrong. I don't say it won't ping or something, but surely should be less productive.

If you don't care about titles, then just import your sites with false titles.
like
http://www.site.com||title

which exactly?

if you wask about the URL||TITLE syntax

you can just make a list with the sites you wish to import to the software to be pinged in list one url at a line in your text editor
and at the end of each line after the url paste ||TITLE
and then just import that list to the software.

well, there's no way round it. I can make mods and have the script let you import urls without titles, but i won't be able to make it before tuesday, since i have some other important work. Also i would not be able to give you guarantee on the quaility of the pings that way..

If you want to wait, let me know.. otherwise if you think the software is not useful to you, i can refund you..
