Hi,

Auto Pinging seems to have stopped. Cron is still running, but sites which last pinged for example on 2 Sep and were supposed to ping every seven days did not ping on 9 Sep.

Seems I have had no auto pings since 4 Sep.

Has some kind of server update screwed things?

Hello there,
can you please tell me which version of Rocket Pinger you are on?

If you are on latest version 1.5, can you please download the file "rpcronjobs" and see its contents. If the file is empty, the cronjob is working fine. If the file contains "cron running" , empty the file and reupload.

If that doesn't help, probably it might be something from the server and i will need more info..

Let me know..

Thanks!

Hi,

Yes there was text in that file. I deleted it and now it is pinging.

Any reason why that happens?

when the cronjob runs, it writes a text string into that file. Since the cronjob is runs frequently and previous run might not have finished yet, it first checks for the text string in that file. If it exist, the new cronjob does not run. With simple words, if your cronjob runs and don't finish properly, the text file remains with the text string, so the cronjob actually gets stucked.
If your pinging stop working for the future, just go and empty the file again.
Let me know if this starts happening too frequent..

Thanks!
