Hi everyone,

will try in one thread collect all problems met with Blogger remote posting

1. First blog in account linked to profile, not blog. Second links to the first blog, third to the second and etc.

2. Posting from feeds generated by Wordpress, Yahoo Pipes and Blogger itself doesn't work. No posts appear in blog.
That is probably XHTML conflict. So how to make desired feeds XHTML compatible?

hey there, i can't understand your first problem.

about the 2nd problem, in v3.0 i have added xhtml converter which add the necessary / to the end of the nonclosing tags like br,img,hr so it should post normally to blogger. I will test that again right now and shall see..

When I post with normal or visual editor, after each <br> tag I get rn characters. This happen in WordPress posts too...

And I noticed that when I delete post I does not get deleted on Blogger...

Hm I just noticed, when using normal editor, these problems vanish if I don't use blank space " " between text and html tags.

Just the same problem with "rn"

I imported several posts, so every post goes in one line.
I checked - there are no any spaces before and after HTML tags.
Those posts imported successfully and were scheduled too without problem.

Then I tried to post one for test - and as a result nothing posted to Blogspot, but in BO that post marked as posted.
So when I opened it in BO's editor I've discovered those nr nearly on every line.

So I have two questions:
1. how to remove those nr
2. how should be post formed to be posted on Blogspot successfully?

PS. View source (button HTML) of BO WYSIWYG editor does not work in Firefox - shows blank source (works fine in IE).

BO doesn't delete posts from remote blogs. It deletes them just from its database. Thats about your second problem..

About the rn chars. when they appear exactly? when you use the wysiwyg editor or when you don't use it?

how you imported those posts? With mass posts import feature or some other way?

Blogspot, since it moved to google, it started having lots of requirements to accept posts. First it wanted fully valid xhtml code of the post. Then it was something else, and else. I remember fine tuning BO about 4-5 times to make it somehow convert your posts to be compatible for posting to blogspot. So now they don't like rn chars? If thats the case i can make BO remove any rn chars in post.. just let me know what it is exactly..
The bad thing is that blogspot nowhere in their api docs, don't say exactly all the requirements for the posts..

Atanasis, I used mass import posts for remote blogs.

I can send you login to my BO via icq - so you will see everything by yourself.

so recent news are the next:

1. BO sends well into Wordpress-based blogs posts that are imported through Mass post import
2. It posts even from BLOG NOW button, from WYSIWYG, but adds "rn" everywhere.

So I decided to import posts through BO into WP blog and then add posts to Blogspot blogs from WP generated feeds (yeah, felt myself as a proctologist - doing things through ass), but damn!
It does not post WP generated feeds into Blogspot blogs... Sad(((

UPD
Installed last update you mentioned in close theme about the same rn problem.
Now it posts fine and updates fine from WYSIWYG editor.

Have you thought of using WP editor? It converts posts well for xhtml?
Or to give user a choice of what editor to use?
This Tinymce loads VERY long in my IE, I use FF but to see source I need to use IE.

yeah, this tinymce causes lots of troubles and i keep trying to fix them.

WP uses tinymce too, but very cut version..

So when you upgraded now with latest patches is everything working for you properly?

Kaktusan is great as always Smile

Problem solved, in fact it was my fault - I used
Code:
&gt; and &lt;
in my posts.
So be careful of what you use, when you do it for Blogspot.
