In this tutorial will be explained how Remote Blogging in Blogs Organizer works and how you should proceede to maintain your remote blogs.
In order to maintain a remote blog with Blogs Organizer, you must have in mind the following things first:
- Do your blog allows to be operated remotely?
- What API (standartized method) your remote blog software supports for operating the blog?
In case your blog is able to be operated remotely, you must find out what API it uses.
Consider you know the details, just go to BO admin and click "Remote Blogs->Services". Fill the form there with the details for your remote blog software API. The most important fields there are the API URL where you need to type the url to which your remote blog software accepts the remote queries to operate your blog, and the API Type where you need to choose what is the type of the API your blog software supports. The most common and most used by many blogging software API type is the "Blogger API 1.0", recently "Blogger API 2.0" has been introduced to extend and improve the first version.
In case your don't know what your blog API is, or you want to see some most used ones look at the list just below:
List of the most common settings for Remote Blog Services:
(Note all the info listed below might be changed by its owners, we will try to keep it updated as possible!)
Blogger.com:
(v2.5) If you have movied your blogger blogs under the new system, which is merged with Google, you should choose service Blogger Gdata
API URL: http://www.blogger.com/api
API Type: Blogger API 2.0
Thumblogger.com
API URL: http://www.thumblogger.com:2020/
API Type: Blogger API 1.0
Wordpress
(v2.5) If you wish to be able to publish your posts to specific category from your wordpress blogs, you must add your wordpress blogs as API Type: Wordpress
API URL: http://www.yourdomain.com/path_to_wordpress/xmlrpc.php
API Type: Wordpress
Wordpress MultiUser
To correctly setup Blogs Organizer, post to Wordpress MultiUser blogs, please refer to the 2nd post of this thread!
Note that the listed information is just sample one! You can use Blogs Organizer with lots more remote services that aren't listed in here. Just make sure you know their settings and they fit into the Blogs Organizer supported APIs. In case you would like to reguest support for additional remote services and APIs, please inform us with the necessary details.
Right after you have added your blog service properly, you can proceede to "Remote Blogs-> Accounts" where you need to select your Remote Blog Service and input your login information that is used to authorize at your remote blog service.
Note when adding new account, BO tries to login to your remote service, to make sure all settings are properly, so if it fails, then either your login info is incorrect or you supplied incorrect API info for the remote blog service
Right After you have added successfully your account, you can scroll down the page and find the account in the Accounts List and click on "Scan" next to it, so you will get a list with all blogs available in that account. Once you get the list with your blogs, you can assign them to a particular category in BO and thats all. Next you can go to "Remote Blogs->Blogs" and edit some more settings for your just added blogs or start posting directly!
NOTE: Posting to remote blogs is done with 25 seconds delay between posts, since most remote blog software has antispam timeout settings, which denies posting too frequently within a period from 10-23 seconds _________________ Thanks,

USING WORDPRESS MULTIUSER TUTORIAL
This is a special tutorial for making your Wordpress Multiuser compatible with Blogs Organizer. Actually there isn't anything special or complicated, but there is one thing you should remember and people do mistakes with!
When trying to get Blogs Organizer post to WPMU, for each different blog for your WPMU you need to add a new service of type Wordpress as for your regular WP install, and account but for the Service API URL you should type like:
http://www.yourdomain.com/yourblog/xmlrpc.php
For example if your WPMU is installed at your root domain and your blogs are set to appear in subfolders, you should not use directly:
http://www.yourdomain.com/xmlrpc.php as your service api url, but you should use for each blog like:
http://www.yourdomain.com/yourblog/xmlrpc.php
http://www.yourdomain.com/yourotherblog/xmlrpc.php
Correspondingly if your WPMU is set to publish your blogs in subdomains you should use like:
http://yourblog.yourdomain.com/xmlrpc.php
http://yourotherblog.yourdomain.com/xmlrpc.php
Using the API URL at its original location in the main WPMU install folder will make your posts appear only for your admin account! Trying to use that API URL for your multiuser blogs will cause the posts not appear! _________________ Thanks,
