As of Blogs Organizer v3.5 "Tagclouds" feature has appeared.
Note: The feature is still in experimental state! It contains lots of basic needed features and works fine, but we all know there is lots more to be wished and will be developed with the time!
Please, report and discuss anything about the Tagclouds in this thread
Don't start new threads regarding it!!!
Note: Before you proceede with the docs, take a note that the biggest missing feature currently is to auto link keywords inside your blog posts to the corresponding tag page. Such a feature could cause really really big heavy load depending on the number of blogs and posts you operate with your BO script. You can't compare this feature in single wordpress blog and lets say 200 BO blogs each having lets say 200 posts.. This feature is left for future development if we find a convenient and lightweight way to be done!
Note: Tagclouds work only for BO blogs (Regular Blogs) and NOT for Remote Blogs!
Okay, here starts the docs...
Everything about Tagclouds is in the "Tagclouds" dropdown in the admin controls.
To create new tagcloud you must go to "Tagclouds->Create New" and fill the form that appears there.
You currently have 3 options to determine tags. The first one is by "Master Keywords List" which you define by yourself in a field below. The second one is by the "Post Keywords" - the keywords you enter when adding your posts will be used for tags. And the third option is the post's categories extracted from RSS Feeds - they will be used as tags.
You can use 3 options in conjuction.
Note: if you use "Post Categories extracted from RSS Feed" only posts published after your upgraded to BO v3.5 will be counted. The script wasn't saving the categories before and thats why the older posts can't be counted by this option.
All rest options appearing at the form are about styling your tagcloud and detailed explanations exist on the form itself.
Once you added your tagcloud from that form you are ready to display it on your blogs. Yes, blogs - one tagcloud settings can used for as many blogs as you want. That doesn't mean that each blog will display same tagcloud list - NO its different for each blog according to its post, just BO uses same settings to build the tagcloud for each blog.
To display the tagcloud on a blog, you need to go and edit your blog and find the "Tagcloud Settings" section on the edit page. There you select which tagcloud should be used for the blog and how frequent you want the tagcloud be regenerated. After that you need to scroll to the "Main Template" of the blog and put a variable %%TAGCLOUD%% where you want it to appear - regularly that is your sidebar.
Once you save the blog settings, you are done!
