if you ping url/rpexternal.php
then you can have rocketpinger do manual pinging
but how do you tell it the title and the pathname to use when pinging?

yes, you can do that ofcourse. the rpexternal.php receives the data as XMLRPC request, especially the weblog.ping one. Just search google for such requests and you will see how they are done

currently no, it listens for xmlrpc requests, since the blog scripts will ping in xmlrpc..
in future can try to add and what you suggest
