sure, i will update it.
Subcategories are the categories inside blogs. You add yourself categories in "Subcategories" section. then when you want a blog to have any categories, go and edit the blog and highlight in the list there which subcategories to use. And finally enable "build category pages" option, just above the categories list.

| I've got all that. When I check a pic that is uncategorized the path is to the site where BO runs. The problem is when I change the subcategory the thumb pic is broken and doesn't show. When I view it's properties I see the thumb is pathed to the blog url, not to where BO runs. |

hmm.. are you on latest script version? and when the linking files of the blog have been placed? prior v3.0 or after?
pics uploaded through the ibrowser, should appear with the blog url in the blogs source, not with BO install url..

| It's version 3.4. A new install. So they should be written as new files to the blog and not just reference the BO location? If so, then I have to check the blog install. |

yes, images should show in the blog source with the blog url..
look again and if yet problemable pm me url and pass to your BO and i will take a look..

i got all that too, but i got a feeling that i must assign somehow some feeds to the subcategories, how should BO know what to put into the subcategories if no one is telling it to BO
i run 3.4 just updated it today, and after it i tested the subcategories

currently BO can't handle different feeds for different categories. The categories just appeared in the software and pretty soon will be expanded more and then you will be able to tell which feeds to which categories to post and lots more features.
About the 404 error, that looks like a .htaccess problem at the blog location. Are your blog linking files prior v3.0? also did you enable the script to build the category pages in the blog settings?

about the 404
i did go to generate linking codes
and created this cat.php file, since it was not there from the former version, but that didnt help so far
i also updated the .htaccess since new BO gives much more entries
 didnt help too, still 404
next step, i simply upload all BO generated files again
:-/ still 404 s when i click on them
i have selected "Yes"
@ Build Category pages for the blog.
dunno what else i could do |

ok, just looked at your pm and the problem is exactly like i thought. it is from the blog linking files. There is no http://www.ouchthathurts.net/blog/cat.php
please grab again the zip with the blog linking files and upload to your blog and then try again
