Well, I'm asking a lot of questions! Thanks for all the responses. Hopefully, once I get to grips with the initial set up and become familiar with the tools then you'll hear less from me.
A question about posting dates and times. Is it possible to back date a post to a date of choice?
At the beginning of a new blog I like to add 10 or so posts to give the impression that the blog has been updated frequently for the last couple of weeks.
Yesterday, I made 3 posts and published them. Then I went to edit the post and changed the dates so they seemed to have appeared on different days over the last week.
However, although the admin panel shows the published/scheduled date as being the false date the actual posts themselves on the blog all show the same date.
Is there some way I can get a entry I post today to show a date of two weeks ago for example?
Thanks again for your replies. |

hi there, no problems about your questions
yes, you can backdate your posts since version 2.0. Just go to the "add post" screen, and do a schedule for the post with an old date. That should work. _________________ Thanks,

Hi, I'm still having problems with this, and also now it seems my forward scheduled posts aren't posting either.
I did manage to post a backdated post a few days ago but since then I havent been able to do that again. I thought perhaps the scheduler cron job wasn't working correctly, so I emailed the host. Their answer was it was working fine (i.e. running every minute).
I looked at my system events and this is what I see for the last few days:

I would expect to see the BO Updater being reported much more often.
Please can you advise where to go from here? Is there anything else I can provide or check in order to help solve the problem?
Backdating posts to give a new blog that busy look and auto scheduling future posts are obviously very important to the whole scheme of things. |
