Just starting to use Bo, have been using Wordpress. Have a few questions though.

1) Just created a new blog in BO (http://nauticathorn.stars4porn.com). Have set it up and posted once but when I type in the above URL I am re-directed to my main page (not blog). How do I make my blog "live"?

2)I want to have the same look as all my other blogs. I have been using a Wordpress "theme" that I modified. How do I re-create this theme in BO?

Hi there,
well, after you create your blog in BO, you should go to "Blogs->Linking Codes" and following the instructions there, download the blog linking files and upload them to the blog location at which your blog will appear. Thats done just once, when you create the blog. From then you operate everything from the admin panel..

About the templates, you just need to get familiar with the BO templates and see how things are done in them, so you can design your own or use WP or other templates.. In BO its pretty easy, just design the whole page as you want it to look, and on the places where script will be putting content, just replace with variables.

Let me know if you have any more questions..

I have uploaded all the files onto my server but have one problem. Everything is there until I load my .htaccess file, then I get a 500 error. I have chmod 755 to ASCII. If I remove the .htaccess file everything works. How can I fix.

About the WP themes. Can I import them directly into BO? If so how?
Take alook at one of my blogs: stars4porn.com.blogs/charmane-star. It was created in WP. Tp get the same look do I have to somehow import all the PHP files into BO?

you might be getting 500 error if you have typed incorrect values in the Blog edit settings and especially in the "Post Link Name" and "SiteMap" fields. You shouldn't use any special chars or spaces there except - or _
Edit those 2 fields, and grab again the htaccess linking code.

Well, to make the WP theme or any other theme or design, you just need to have all the html/css code for displaying the layout on 1 page, so you just copy its source and paste in the template field in BO and then just replace the necessary html/css where content will be output, with some variables. Try looking at the starter BO templates to see how it is done..

I couldn't have a typo as I simply copied and pasted from your page into my new pages.

As far as the themes go each site has more than 1 page including a css page. Do I have to transfer them all into my site directory on my server? If so, how will BO then be able to access them?

as about the 500 error, i am not talking about typo errors, but having space or other special chars in the "Post Link Name" or "Sitemap" settings of your blog settings.

Well, if your blog designs, have more than 1 file, you should upload the rest to the blog location itself, otherwise its best to make the whole template into 1 file and don't do any uploads and etc..

If you still get the 500 error, pm me url and pass to your BO admin..

A Wordpress theme usually has abot 15-30 files. You mean I have to upload each (by FTP) inro my directory? What file is my main index page (BO default page)?

well, all you need to do is make the design into one page, thats what the rest users do with their WP themes. Just the index page design is take into 1 whole page and that you paste in BO as template and put the necessary variables. You don't need all the stuff from the WP theme.. Sorry i am not much familiar with the WP themes, and never tried myself integrating one into BO. Someone else that has been doing this might help you by saying the easiest way possible to do it..

Am having a lot of trouble with changeing your templates to match my existing Wordpress Blogs. The themes from WP have numerous PHP includes. I really wan't to keep my existing themes but somehow incorporate them into BO. How can I do this. If it isn't possible I really don't see the value of your software over WP as your available themes aren't very attractive at all. Please help.

Let me tell you how you can do it easier.

Apply the wordpress theme on one of your WPs. Open the blog from the browser. Do a view source and copy and paste the whole source code into your web editor. Then just use that source to remove anything you don't need, and the rest put it as template in BO. So basically when you do that, the whole main page source thats needed will be there, you won't need to go through all the includes that the wp themes have.
