I had to change server. All the blogs are working fine except that when i try to modify a blog, i never see the changes but it's saved as if i reload the blog into BO, i do see the modifications under the main template.
Everything was working fine before and was working for years.
Ex: if i enter "test"test"test" at the bottom of the main template. Save. Well this doesn't show up. Reload main template in BO, i see in template "test"test"test" !
What's missing ? Must be related to the transfer ?
EDITED:
Just tried to add a post. Doesn't show up either but i do see it under browse post. Man this is odd ?
Oh yeah i rebuilt all blogs to see if it could change something but it didn't.
I must tell you that when it was rebuilding blogs, i got: "Creating feed file, check permission" |

Well it was a server move from within the same hosting company. So it's not a brand new installation. So they just migrated the hole thing.
Right now i have in permission settings under general settings:
File 644
Directory 755
(i tried 666 and 777 too and didn't work either)
I also did this:
Chmod to 777 the files "boinfo.inc.php", "bocronjobs" and the directories "boblogs", "bofeeds", "boposts", "bobackups", "boimages", "bomaps", "bocategories", "botagclouds"
By the way, i don't see any tutorials from the BO download i just did (new PC here and didn't had a copy of BO on it)
Everything works fine except that no matter what i do, i never see any changes. What could be wrong ? Thanks |

when you rebuild the blog do you get ""Creating feed file, check permission""
if you get that, your permissions are still not file, especially the blog files themselves.. _________________ Thanks,

Yes it's showing up, after i just tried to rebuild the blogs after changing the settings and CHmOding (i don't understand why it's not working)
What shall i do now ?
Chmod everything, in every blogs by hand ? (hope it's not the only way)
If i need to do this manually, tell me which files and diretories (on each blog) i need to chmod and to what permission of course. I will do a test with only one blog to see if works to start with.
Thanks for helping me out ! |

as i said all folders mentioned in the BO install that need to be 777, all files inside those directories should be 666
you don't need to do it by hand, if using ftp client, simply select all and apply permissions, if on ssh, use like chmod 666 boblogs/* _________________ Thanks,

Thanks working now.
I only have one blog which i couldn't chmod 666
It gave me a "500 error" from FTP (not permitted)
Any ideas ?
Also, what's the minimum chmod i should try ? As 777 is kinda risky (for directories) and 666 for the files ?
Thanks |

well, you probably have no permissions to touch that file. Ask your host support to chmod it..
755 for dirs and 644 for files is fine, but it depends on the server configuration if BO will be able to write to them.. _________________ Thanks,
