Hi

I got an old installation of BO that's causing problems on a vps. It's consuming too much of everything. I contacted support and here is what they said:

*************************************************************
>>> I have checked and found that the mysql is consuming high RAM on the server. Please check the following :::
=================================================================================
0.00 Mb COMMAND

29.30 Mb /usr/sbin/mysqld --basedir=/ --datadir=/var/lib/mysql --user=mysql --pid-file=/var/lib/mysql/vps.mysite.com.pid --skip-external-locking --socket
=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
29.30 Mb /usr/sbin/mysqld --basedir=/ --datadir=/var/lib/mysql --user=mysql --pid-file=/var/lib/mysql/vps.mysite.com.pid --skip-external-locking --socket

I would request you that please contact to your web-developer and optimize the databases.

Also, found that the php script "borssfeeder.php" was eating 98%CPU. Following is %CPU usage ::
===========================
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
6839 root 20 0 27552 13m 4992 R 98 1.2 2:19.16 /usr/local/bin/php -q /home/admin/domains/mysite.com/public_html/bo/borssfeeder.php
===========================
please optimize the script "borssfeeder.php"as well which is under "/home/admin/domains/mysite.com/public_html/bo/"

************************************************************

What can i do about it ?
Thanks

hi there, the borssfeeder.php is using high CPU because it downloads the feeds content. Downloads within php are always high cpu'ed especially when they are big files. So you might wanna check feeds that you don;t use to be removed and extra large feeds to be removed.

As about the mysql, i don't understand why there are 10 instances of mysql? I am seeing this for a first time. The mysql must be configured properly and you won't be having problems with it. Also to minimize the use of mysql in BO, put some purging on the blogs, and delete all unnecessary info that gathered up through the years..
