hey there, well, yes you shouldn't bother creating any new blogs with WP since you need to install and configure it for each blog, while with BO you create a new blog for minutes..
Well, best way if you ask me is to get some more cheap hosting accounts at other companies, and just put your BO blog locations there, this way you will have different IPs for your blog groups.
As for now, a linking between your blogs will be advicable in the following schema:
A links to B, C links to A and any kind of variations, where just make sure blogs on one IP don't link between themselves..
Maybe and someone else more experienced than me in linktrading might help you out.
