I'd like to use the Statcounter free service (www.statcounter.com) to track stats for my BO blogs. I use this on some of my Wordpress blogs and its very handy. To use Statcounter on a BO blog I'm supposed to insert this code right before "/body" at the end of the Main Template code:

(I replaced some of my personal info below with XXXX)

<!-- Start of StatCounter Code -->
<script type="text/javascript">
var XXX_project=XXXXXXX;
var XXX_invisible=1;
var XXX_security="XXXXXX";
</script>
<script type="text/javascript"
src="http://www.statcounter.com/counter/counter.js"></script>
<!-- End of StatCounter Code -->

After I inserted that code I used Statcounter to verify that it was seeing the code... and it couldn't see it. I tried rebuilding the blog and that didn't work either.

Next I tried some non-java code that Statcounter provides:

<div id="statcounter_image" style="display:inline;"><a
title="joomla analytics"
href="http://statcounter.com/joomla/"
class="statcounter"><img
src="http://c.statcounter.com/XXXX/0/XXXXX/1/"
alt="joomla analytics" style="border:none;" /></div>

The same problem came up... Statcounter still does not find the code on my BO blog and I'm inserting it right before the "/body" as instructed.

Could there be something within BO that is preventing Statcounter from working?

Hi there,

BO templates accept any kind of code - html, css, php, javascript.. So there is no problems of inserting statcounter or anything else you would like. Just put it in the blog main template and save and it should be there..

Thanks for the feedback. I tried installing the SC code on another BO blog and it was recognized fine. So then I contacted SC support to ask why my first BO blog was not being recignized (even though hits were being registered) and they said they're having some problems with their site recognition feature. Guess that explains everything!
