My sites were working just fine, then my host upgraded the server and everything went bad Sad

Any template with the "%%LINKTRADES,10%%" tag (ie all of them) is now broken and the page is displayed with no further html beyond that - ie if the heading above the linktrades is "Links:", then that is the last html in the page.

If I remove the "%%LINKTRADES,10%%" tag, everything works OK.

I thought maybe installing version 2.5 would fix it, but it didn't.

I bext tried backing up the entire thing and transferred the domain to another server - still the same problem.

Any ideas what has caused this?

if you are using the regular php include link files, probably your host have the remote file inclusion disabled, if you were using the CURL linking codes probably the curl php library is not available..

I am using curl.

OK - if I understand this correctly, 'curl' needs to be installed on the server hosting the remote sites, yeah?

The server that I "knew" had changed was the one with Blogs Organiser installed on it, but it always possible that the other server could have changed without my notice I suppose.

FWIW, I have checked both the Blogs Organiser server, and the server hosting the remote sites both show that curl is installed when I run info.php.

Also, I am confused as to why it would work if I remove just the "%%LINKTRADES,10%%" tag - ie. everything else seems to work Ok.

Is there some other restriction that the hositng company could have put in place that stops, for example, fetching any remote data containing a URL?

i see, well when the things work fine when the %%LINKTRADES..%% is removed the problem is from the linktrades displaying on the blog. That %%LINKTRADES..%% variable is replaced with a php include or curl code to display the trades from the BO install domain. First, you might try opening the blog template like /bo/boblogs/blog#.php and see if there is linktrades variable should it work or no. Also in the index.php file at your blog location, you might remove the @ symbols before the includes and then open via web the page and probably in the source code an error would show up saying exactly what the problem is. If nothing helps, pm me url and pass to your BO admin and probably ftp access might be needed....

hmm - gets more baffling.

If I post the blog#.php file to the remote site, it works perfectly

If I access the blog#.php file in its original location on my Blogs Organiser domain, it fails with the error.

eg. http://www.my.blogsorganiser.com/bo/boblogs/blog23.php
Shows the error - even on domains that are working on the remote servers !!!

I'll send you the log in details for my installation
