I've been working on some templates for BO, and when I edit the template and refresh the blog...the template edit doesn't appear. It's not a browser cache issue, as I tried clearing the cache.
The only thing that works is, switching the blog to another template, then switching it back to the one I just edited. Only then can I see the edited template changes appear on the blog.
I see this being a problem when I need to edit a template being used by a thousand or more different blogs. I would have to remember which blogs are using that template, and switch them back and forth, rather than just simply editing one template.
Is it normal to have to switch a blog's template before template edits appear, or am I doing something wrong? |

how exactly you switch the blog template? Probably you are just editing the template in "Premade Templates" section. That is wrong, because those templates are not the ones the blogs use. They are separate from the real blog one. The actual blog template is in "edit" screen of the blog.. _________________ Thanks,

Thanks for your fast reply.
Yes, I was editing it in the pre-made templates section. I see that each blog has it's own area to customize its template, so I will edit there instead, and copy it over to the pre-made template once it's done. It does make sense to be able to customize each blog's template individually like that.
Though I also think it would be cool to have some kind of override option where the blog could be tied only the pre-made template. Then you could change anything (sidebar ads, etc.) on hundreds of blogs at the same time, from a single template. |

glad you understand it now..
well, you can edit a "premade template", then go to "mass blog settings->template change" and apply the premade template to the blog.. _________________ Thanks,
