Hey, I have an issue and some questions.

1: BO subcategories are categorization of posts within the blog. I noticed there is a subcategory named 'uncategorized', and when I use %%CATEGORIES_LI%% in my templates, this category shows. I don't use it and I don't want it to show. I have many blogs with only one category, but I still want to use category page(s). In manage blogs, I cannot remove uncategorized from the subcategories menu (I choose other subcategory and save, but then both the other subcategory and uncategorized gets marked). I guess a a blog always must have atleast one subcategory defined, but I just don't want it to be uncategorized.

2: in BA, I can choose different sources in my campaigns, items from different BA-categories. Then, I can post this to my BO blogs, and mark the categories I want these items posted to. How does BA know which BA-category matches the BO-categories. Use same name? What happens if I chose five categories for the items in the campaign, but my BO blog only has four of them?

Thanks
Andreas

edit correction, wrote ba blogs instead of bo blogs..

1) currently you can't remove or rename the uncategorized category. For next version of the script you will have these options

2) the way it works, is like with every other blogging software that supports categories. In BO you create your categories for your blog. In BA when you add your blog or when you click "rescan categories", BA requests a list of the supported by the blog categories from BO. So when making campaign you select to what category should the posts go. BO/BA don't determine anything by themselves..

Ok but in BA, multiple selection is available when choosing what blog categories to post to. Ah, you mean the post goes to all selected categories?

Thanks Smile

I'm sorry, but I actually did rename the uncategorized subcategory.
I just edited it and chose a new name.
But the problem is I renamed it to interracial, and now when I'm setting up all my pornstar blogs, I have an interracial category on them..
I will probably not use category pages, and remove the directive from my templates until next update..

thanks, I changed the name of 'interracial' to uncategorized again, and edited the blogs to mark 'interracial' and uncategorized. i then rescan my bo blog categories in ba and checked my campaigns to make sure the correct category was still selected.

I had to change subcategory for all bo items also, I manually changed column cats in boposts to the id matching the subcategory i wanted from bosubcategories. I also noted that you insert the names of the categories (not talking subcategories here) in the tables, instead of the id of those categories. Does that mean I can't change categories of blogs? Just a sidenote.. nothing important..

In BA the category names are being stored, because in the remote api the names are used when being passed to the blogs and not their internal IDs.

You can change the cat names, but you will need to rescan the categories in BA and redo your campaigns
