I was running the rp-upgrade.php file and got this error message:
Query to MySQL Failed: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

pinger also stoped for me 2007-11-28 04:11:01 and is not running.

hm, did you upgraded properly, by uploading all files in BINARY mode?
also are you pinging through proxies or no?
pm me url and pass to your RP admin and i will take a look..

yes i uploaded all files in BINARY mode. no i don't ping througt proxies, the proxy database is empty.
ok i post the url and admin pass but you will see the site is gone after i uploaded the upgrade files. so there is nothing to login anymore  .
for information, i upgraded the BO some days ago without any problems.
i would be happy if you could fix that for me soon because over 100 blogs are not pinged now for 3 days and i don't have the time to ping them all by hand.

well, i see php error problem on your RP install. Are you sure you have uploaded the upgrade package and not the package for new installs. As looking into the error returned, to me looks like you have put the package for new installs and it overwritten the rpinfo.inc.php file which holds the mysql database info and initial connections between all script files. check the contents of the rpinfo.inc.php file, is there anything in that file?

i see..
well i just checked the upgrade package and there is no 'rpinfo.inc.php' file included at it, so you can't overwrite it when you upload the package, nor the rp-upgrade.php touches the config file..so only way to overwrite that file is to upload the full install package.. anyways.. its already done.. lets get to fix it
