Hello, rp stopped pinging since I added 8616 proxies and switched the proxy ping on. is it possible that that is to much?
If yes, let me know how much proxies I can add max. in rp.

well, the number of proxies isn't the problem, the problem probably is that most of these proxies are not valid ones, and when you enabled the proxied pinging, before a ping script starts looking for valid proxy by verifying each of them until it finds first valid proxy to use for pinging. so before you loading proxies make sure some how they are valid ones, so script won't hang like that..

OK, I understand. I deleted all proxies and switched proxy pinging off. I want see if it starts pinging again without proxy, my next pinging intervall starts in a couple of hours. I will let you know.
I search for proxies with a softwaer wich spits out a list, how I can find out now if they are good or not? Do I need maybe a secound softwaer for that?

well, yes there are lots of proxy lists available nowadays, but most of the proxies are outdated or not working anymore, so it takes lots of time for the script to find working one. Just see yourself for a program that can verify proxies somehow.. In the past i have used "forum proxy leecher" program which can grab lists of proxies and also can verify them..

Atanasis, my RP stopped pinging at all. The last ping event was at 2007-11-10 03:05:01 than it stopped, nothing anymore.
That is a emergency case for me now because I switched off all other pinging services for these blogs.

well, it might got stuck..
go via ftp and download the "rpcronjobs" file. open it with notepad and delete any content that might be in it, and upload the empty file. On next minute the pinging should start again..

i wish i could. i added again only 215 unique proxies found and checked from the recommended softwaer "forum proxy leecher" and switched on proxypinging. the rp stopped pinging again! how can we fix that?

when you go to the proxies database, how much you see? or look at the main summary page. I assume RP wasn't able to find good proxies again and it deleted them. As i said its pretty hard nowadays to find good proxies that last long.. that FPL program is pretty well known since couple of years and probably lots of people are using it and the proxies dry up fast. I remember the old days when it started proxies were good, but with the time they became nightmare..
to fix it, remove the proxy ping and clear the rpcronjobs again..

yes i understand the problem with the proxies. i cleared the proxy database and the file rpcronjobs, switched the proxypinging off and everything runs normal.
no, rp don't deleted any proxy adress in the database. are you shure that the proxies are not valid and that they cause the error? i added the proxies right after the checking prozess by the softwaer (if a proxy is valid or not) was finished to the rp database. i used only proxies wich were verified (for information: from about 22000 results only 215 were verified). should these 215 verified proxy adresses bring the whole rp to stop or is there somewhere an other possibility where maybe i could made a mistake?

looks like that rp stopped automated pinging again, this time without proxies. i added new blogs to automated pinging and scheduled them, that they get pinged 3 to 5 minutes after submission but nothing happened  . |

hi there, just looked at your RP..
first i see the proxies are 0, have you deleted them? or script did that when you have enabled proxied pinging last time?
Yes it got stuck again for some reason..
clean the rpcronjobs file and it will start again..
by tomorrow i will make some updates to the script so it doesn't get stuck and will supply you a patch.

hello there, i never got an answer if you fixed the problem or not. so, i set up my cronjobs external and everything worked well with the autopinging. now i started with handpinging also and the rp stopped again. do i have to upload the rpcronjobs file for the rest of the time or is there something in work to make the rp running as provided?

hey there, sorry, just at the day when i was suppose to make that fix, appeared the problem with my host and i needed to move out and switch hosts immediately and it seem like i forgot this thread.

hey there, just did that. you can go and grab the upgrade package and upgrade yourself. I set the script to autoclean the lock file if it has been running for more than 5 minutes, so it should restart itself if get stucked..
