I have BO with the affiliate module.
I also have a custom feed script that you wrote for us.
I was just looking at feeds observer and found it interesting.
Here's my question!
We are building a hosted blog using 5 different feeds from your custom script.
A typical feed looks like this:
Quote:
http://mysite.com/fmfeeds.php?site=14&size=8&num=1&aff={AFF}

Can I use FO to track the traffic from the 5 feeds in BO?
Will it track each feed seperately?

hi there,
well Feeds Observer, works in the way, by providing you alternative feed url, which actually records the stats and displays the original feed. So you just start using the new feed url provided by FO, and you can keep your old as alternative..

For your case i am not recommending it, since to be able to see stats you will need to make your affiliates use the new feed urls. Also i don't think it will be able to swtich affiliate id's since FO is made for regular feeds and without any modding it won't be able to pass out the necessary affiliate id to the original feed.

Hope that gives an answer to your question..

These particular feeds are built especially for the new blog, and the blog is not active yet, Due to some of the idiosyncrasies of the NATS affiliate system, we had to make all new URLs for the feeds.
We are using some pretty tricky (for us amateurs) php coding, so I guess the only way to really find out is to try it.
If it will work, we'll test it before we go live.
You may remember a conversation from a few months ago where I wanted to be able to pass affiliate codes for more than one website.
This blog is the solution, and we actually have it working! (so far)

I'll try it I guess, and see if it will pass the IDs.
Damn this stuff gets complicated Laughing

Heh heh.
Well, so far the feed doesn't even show up in the blog
I set the crawl period to 1 minute in BO, and nothing is changing.
Usually if I add a new feed to BO, the new one shows up right away.
Oh well, It was a good idea anyway.... Wink
